A filly by Deep Impact and Air Groove tops the JRHA Select Sale

The bay filly of Gr.1 winner Air Groove [Tony Bin-Dyna Carle(Northern Taste)], by Deep Impact, was sold by 360,000,000 yen, a record for this sale, to Nobutaka Tada, of Globe Equine Management. The filly is 3/4 sister to Admire Groove (by Sunday Silence), Gr. 1 winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup.

There were 197 lots sold for 4,726,000,000 in total, an increase of 49,6% from last year total, with an average price of 23,989,847 yen (up 31,5% from last year).

The highest price of the foal session was for a 2011 colt by Neo Universe out of Wind in her Hair, hip number 336, 3/4 brother to Deep Impact, also bought by Nobutaka Tada of Globe Equine. There were 161 lots sold for 4,447,200,000 yen (up 33,2% from last year, with an average of 27,622,360 (up 11,7% from 2010 results).
